Project narrative

In January 2017, Chinese Consul Wang Jianqun and Governor Marcos signed a memorandum of agreement to construct a Chinese garden, with the Chinese government donating an initial PHP 2 million, with the project total costing an estimated PHP 4 million. Then, on March 12, 2017, construction began. On January 15, 2018, the Chinese Consulate donated the remaining PHP 2 million for the project to Governor Marcos at the Ilocos Norte Provincial Capitol in Laoag City, the Philippines. On March 10, 2021, an unveiling ceremony for the garden was held.
