Project narrative

On June 7, 2023, the Chinese Embassy in North Macedonia donated MKD 365,000 to the Municipality of Kriva Palanka for the purchase of 105 trash bins. Chinese Ambassador Zhang Zuo paid an official visit to Kriva Palanka, where he met with Mayor Saško Mitovski to mark the donation and discuss opportunities for future cooperation. The waste bins were installed in public spaces across the municipality to improve sanitation and beautify the environment. Specific locations included the main street (St. Joachim Osogovski), the city square, the quay and embankment of the Kriva Reka River, the A2 highway, the road and footpaths leading to the St. Joakim Osogovski Monastery in Babin Dol, and nearby picnic areas. During the visit, Ambassador Zhang emphasized environmental protection as a key pillar of China–North Macedonia cooperation. Mayor Mitovski welcomed the support, noting that the donation would strengthen local waste management and tourism infrastructure while helping to preserve the municipality’s natural and cultural heritage.
