Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

In February 2022, following Cyclone Batsirai, the Chinese Embassy in Madagascar donated 7 tons of rice to the Government of Madagascar as emergency humanitarian assistance. The donation was made in response to an official call for solidarity issued by the Malagasy Government after the cyclone caused widespread flooding, destruction, and food shortages across affected regions. The rice was formally delivered to the Bureau National de Gestion des Risques et des Catastrophes (BNGRC — Madagascar’s National Office for Disaster Risk and Management). The exact date of the ceremony is unknown, and the monetary value of the donation was not publicly disclosed.
