Full Description

Project narrative

On April 12, 2023, the Chinese Consulate General in Zanzibar held a handover ceremony to donate a variety of educational materials to the Zanzibar Central Library. The donation included 110 types of books, 28 English-language documentaries about China, crayons for young readers, and Chinese toys. Among the 110 types of books, there were copies of Xi Jinping Thought, government white papers, Chinese textbooks, and Chinese dictionaries. This marks the first time the Chinese Consulate General has donated books to the library. It aims to strengthen China-Zanzibar ties by fostering a deeper understanding of China among local readers, particularly the youth, and by supporting Chinese language learning resources.
