Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

In September 2023, the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Health Commission launched the “China–Benin Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Telemedicine Service Platform” at the Nadoba Maternal and Child Health Hospital in Atakora Province, Benin. The platform was developed in partnership with the 26th Chinese (Ningxia) Medical Aid Team to Benin and the Ningxia Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and is designed to enable real-time remote consultation and diagnosis between doctors in China and patients in Benin. During the launch ceremony, Chinese representatives donated a "TCM Four Diagnostics Instrument" (中医四诊仪) and remote consultation system to the hospital. A live demonstration was conducted in which a stroke patient received a remote diagnosis from TCM specialists in China. The Nadoba hospital has hosted a TCM department since March 2023, staffed by members of the Chinese medical team. The department provides services such as acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, gua sha, massage, and physiotherapy, and has been well received by local patients.
