Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On November 17, 2023, the Chinese Government donated a large batch of computer and television broadcasting equipment to the Beninese National Assembly. The donation was presented by Chinese Ambassador to Benin Peng Jingtao at a handover ceremony held at the Palais des Gouverneurs in Porto-Novo. The donation supports the modernization of Parliament’s communications infrastructure, particularly the Assembly’s TV and radio branches, Hémicycle TV and Radio. The monetary value of this donation is unknown. The donated items included laptops, desktop computers, printers, HD monitors, broadcasting and video capture systems, and other audiovisual equipment such as studio lighting and mobile tripod stands. According to National Assembly President Louis Vlavonou, the donation strengthens the legislature’s ability to inform citizens, promote transparency, and fulfill its democratic mandate.
