Project narrative

On November 25, 2023, Green Agriculture West Africa Limited (GAWAL), a subsidiary of China Geo-Engineering Overseas Agricultural Development Co., Ltd., held a two-day training course called the Rice Cultivation Technology Training Program in partnership with the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development. The program trained 5,000 women across Nigeria in modern rice cultivation techniques, land preparation, seed breeding, fertilizer use, and agricultural value chains. The goal was to reduce poverty and boost economic empowerment. GAWAL also provided the participants with high-yield rice seed.
