Project narrative

On November 8, 2023, Guangxi province sent the fifth medical team to Cambodia's Prey Veng Province to perform vision restoration surgery. The team composed of eight ophthalmologists and medical staff from the Liuzhou Red Cross Hospital. The team conducted 689 cataract surgeries during their time in Cambodia. The medical team returned on December 22, 2023. This project is a part of the second iteration of the "Belt and Road" Cataract Blindness Elimination Campaign. The first campaign ran from May 17th, 2018, to December 2019.
