Project narrative

On October 19, 2022, a signing ceremony was held for the donation of 507 tons of rice to Djibouti. Chinese ambassador to Djibouti Hu Bin and Djibouti Minister of Foreign Affairs Mahamoud Ali Youssouf signed the handover certificate for their respective governments during the ceremony. The monetary value of the donation is unknown. Other figures in attendance included the Djiboutian Minister of the Interior Said Nouh Hassan and Executive Secretary of the Office for Refugees and Disaster Relief (ONARS) Houssein Hassan Darar. This marks the third year that the Chinese government has donated rice as food aid to Djibouti. Donations in previous years are captured in Record ID #85652 (2021) and Record ID #106676 (2022).
