Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On Feb 6, a 7.7-magnitude earthquake and a 7.6-magnitude earthquake hit Turkey, causing heavy casualties and financial losses. On February 7, 2023, Turkish media announced that the Chinese government would provide RMB 40 million of emergency assistance, including sending heavy urban rescue teams, medical teams, and disaster relief supplies that Turkey urgently needs. On Feb 11, the first batch of China-aided earthquake relief supplies – 40,000 blankets weighing 86 tons in total – left from Shanghai. More supplies, including 1,000 sets of tents, electrocardiograph machines, ultrasonic diagnostics, medical transport vehicles, and manual hospital beds, were expected to be shipped in the next week.
