Project narrative

As of August 1, 2023, the 7th Chinese military medical team had been sent to Sierra Leone. They were stationed at the Tropical Infectious Diseases Prevention and Control Center (IDPC) in the 34 Military Hospital in Freetown, Sierra Leone. The 6th military medical team had completed their term about two months before the arrival of the 7th team on May 29 (see Record ID #107834). In 2015, the Chinese military sent the first military medical team to Sierra Leone to help the country's response to the Ebola outbreak. The military medical teams have since been sent to Sierra Leone every year. Moreover, the military medical teams are distinct from the medical teams that have been dispatched from Hunan Province since 1973.
