Project narrative

On December 8, 2023, the Minister of Environment of Chad and Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People's Republic of China signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the framework from the South-South Cooperation Program of the "Africa Belt" on the fight against climate change. As part of meeting the goal of responding to climate change and enable green and low-carbon development, Ministry of Ecology and Environment of China will provide 4,300 sets of domestic photovoltaic energy production equipment to the Ministry of Environment to help solve the problems of domestic lighting in areas without electricity, and provide a photovoltaics demonstration project to improve Chad's capacity to address climate change.
