Project narrative

On September 8, 2023, China's naval hospital ship Peace Ark donated a collection of cultural and sports supplies to the Confucius Institute in Timor-Leste. The donation included traditional Chinese items such as calligraphy scrolls, folding fans, panda figurines, oil-paper umbrellas, as well as sports equipment like table tennis sets and Chinese chess. This aimed to strengthen the bilateral relationship between the two countries. The supplies will support future cultural activities at the Confucius Institute, offering students and faculty a deeper understanding of Chinese arts and sports. The Peace Ark visited Timor-Leste for seven days beginning on September 7, 2023. While there, the medical ship provided medical care and made other donations (See Record ID#103962).
