Project narrative

In 2021, CNPC (Indonesia) launched the "Traditional Batik Women's Support Project," a community-based initiative to provide environmentally friendly batik training to local women in Indonesia. The program aimed to equip participants with sustainable textile craftsmanship skills, supporting both cultural heritage and green development goals. The training focused on eco-conscious production techniques and sought to enhance women's economic empowerment through skill-building and enterprise support. The initiative culminated in the establishment of a "Dream Batik" workshop to facilitate continued practice and potential income generation. For its impact, the project was awarded the Gold Award at the Indonesia Sustainable Development Goals Award (ISDA) by the Indonesian Corporate Social Responsibility Business Association in September 2021.
