Project narrative

Between February 2022 and May 2023, Palabora Mining Company (PMC) constructed a 3.4 km tar road in Mashishimale Village, Limpopo, as part of its Socio-Economic Development (SED) commitments aligned with the Municipality’s Integrated Development Plan. The project created 20 local jobs, included subcontracting opportunities, and improved connectivity to nearby villages, schools, and Phalaborwa town. The construction was completed in 15 months, with final curbing applied in May 2023. The monetary value of the road is estimated to be 2,550,000 USD.
