Project narrative

From August 31 to September 20, 2023, four Maldivian educators attended the "Seminar for Education Administrators from BRI Countries" in Shanghai, China. The program, fully funded by the Chinese government, was part of China's short-term training initiatives. The Ministry of Education nominated Aishath Farhath (Iftitah School), Adam Shareef (Veymandoo School), and two others, with applications processed through the Foreign Ministry of China.

Staff comments

1. While the original source does not specify the exact funding agency, the China Scholarship Council (CSC), operating under China’s Ministry of Education, commonly funds and organizes training programs for foreign educators from Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) countries. 2. The monetary value of this training was not found.
