Project narrative

Between April 2023 and March 2024, the Chinese Government provided a grant of 4,205,000 Rand for the South African Department of International Relations Internship Program. The purpose of the grant was to fund the 2025-2027 cadet programme. Cadets were to participate in training through classroom-based and practical modules on subjects helpful in international relations from a South African perspective. The program was to last 24 months and train 25 cadets, as well as provide each cadet with a stipend. The program was to take place in the O R Tambo Building in Pretoria.
