Project narrative

On March 21, 2006, a syndicate of 22 banks — including the Bank of China (BOC) — entered into a ¥20 billion JPY syndicated loan agreement with Hana Bank Co., Ltd. — a South Korean bank headquartered in Seoul — for unspecified purposes. The loan was divided into tranches of ¥10 billion JPY each: a tranche with a maturity period of two years and an interest rate of Yen LIBOR plus a margin of 9 basis points (bps) and a tranche with a maturity period of one year and an interest rate of Yen LIBOR plus a margin of 7 bps and. BOC contributed ¥750 million JPY to the two-year tranche. In addition to BOC, the following lenders contributed the respective amounts to the loan syndicate: Bank of America (¥500 million JPY), Barclays Capital (¥500 million JPY), BNP Paribas S.A. (¥500 million JPY), Calyon (¥500 million JPY), DBS Bank (¥500 million JPY), HSH Nordbank AG (¥500 million JPY), Mizuho Corporate Bank (¥500 million JPY), Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) (¥500 million JPY), DZ Bank AG (¥1.1 billion JPY), Dresdner Bank (¥450 million JPY), Fortis Bank (¥750 million JPY), Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena S.p.A. (BMPS) (¥750 million JPY), Bank of Montreal (¥750 million JPY), SanPaolo IMI S.p.A.
