Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

In April 2021, the 18th Chinese medical team in Seychelles was dispatched to the country. The team consists of 6 members, including a cardiologist, a trauma surgeon, and a hepatobiliary surgeon. The team worked at Victoria City Hospital and Northeast Medical Point, where they provided 24-service. During this time, they fought the pandemic, treated COVID-19 and other patients, and trained local doctors. Over the course of their deployment, the team conducted more than 1,000 surgeries, about 10,000 ultrasounds, and more than 3,000 Traditional Chinese Medicine treatments. Since 1986, Shandong Province has been sending medical teams to Seychelles every two years.
