Project narrative

On June 8, 2023, the Myanmar Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar signed "The Agreement on the Transfer of Fund for Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund (2023) Projects." One of these projects was the project "Energy Efficiency Pilot Project in Food Processing Sector," which the Myanmar Ministry of Industry received an unspecified amount of money to implement. The project's goal is to improve the energy conservation capabilities of Myanmar's food processing industry to promote efficiency and reduce costs. The implementation of the project involved an opening ceremony in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar, and the conduction of 10 energy efficiency assessments in food processing factories in Yangon and Nay Pyi Taw. Of these 10 factories, 5 will be chosen for pilot projects on energy conservation.
