Project narrative

In 2023, China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) signed a grant agreement with the Government of Palestine for Phase 2 of the Ramallah Road Extension Project. The purpose of the project is to renovate a 2.7 km section of a ring road in Ramallah that links Al-Awda Square to the intersection of Columbia Street and Abu Dhabi Street (Al-Rayhan). On January 23, 2024, both governments signed a project implementation agreement. Then, on July 3, 2024, Li Xin, Deputy Director of the Chinese Liaison Office in Palestine, attended the bid opening ceremony for the project.

The Chinese project title is 拉马拉道路延长项目. The Arabic project title is لمقطع من الطريق الدائري بعد ميدان العودة ولغاية تقاطع شارع كولومبيا الرابط مع شارع أبو ظبي (الريحان).
