Project narrative

On April 7, 2010 the Chinese government donated $500,000 of maize to Lesotho during a ceremony held in the capital Maseru. Chinese Ambassador, Gao Deyi, handed over the donation saying “the Chinese government donated half a million US dollars to the World Food Programme to purchase food and distribute them to people who mostly need assistance" This is the second time that Lesotho has received food aid from the Chinese government.
