Description

In 2008, the Chinese Government provided an RMB 15 million for the construction of three rural elementary schools in Burundi. Two schools of these schools are located in Karusi (Karuzi) Province (eastern central Burundi) and the third is located in Gihosha within Rural Bujumbura Province. Each school has 6 classrooms, and each classroom can accommodate 50-70 students. Hainan Construction Engineering Group was the contractor responsible for project implementation. Construction began on June 6, 2008, and ended on November 30, 2008.

- One of the schools located in Nyabikere county within Karusi (Karuzi) Province was renovated in 2019 with support from the Chinese Government (see Project ID#57527). - The Chinese project title is 布隆迪的三所学校项目.
