Project narrative
In 2002, the Chinese Government provided an RMB 2.8 million grant to the Government of Gabon for the National Assembly Building Renovation Project. This project involved the repair of equipment installed at the National Assembly Building and the training of Gabonese technicians to maintain the building. The Chinese Government provided interest-free loans to the Government of Gabon during the 1990s to facilitate the construction of the National Assembly Building (also known as Palais de l'Assemblée nationale or Palais Léon Mba). The building was constructed between May 1997 to August 30, 1999. It was officially put into use on May 25, 2001.
