Description
In 2003, the Chinese Government provided a grant worth CFA 3.9 billion to the Government of the Republic of Congo for the Potable Water Supply in Three North Brazzaville Neighborhoods Project. This project involved the installation of a water supply system — consisting of three water pump stations, a 111 meter borehole, a 103 meter borehole, a 97 meter borehole, and a 53 km water pipeline — in three districts in North Brazzaville: Nkombo, Massengo and Moukondo. The ultimate goal of the project was to increase access to potable drinking water. Beijing Uni-Construction Company (BUCC) was the contractor responsible for project implementation. Construction started on August 15, 2003, and was completed on August 1, 2005.
