On January 4, 2002, the Chinese Government donated sports equipment worth 2 million ZWL to the Zimbabwean Ministry of Sports and Culture (See: China donates sport equipment to Zimbabwe.). The donation was handed to Enias Chigwedere, the Zimbabwean Minister of Education, Sports, and Culture, by Hou Qingru, the Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe (See: China donates sport equipment to Zimbabwe.).
