Description
In June 2004, China announced the donation of cultural equipment worth $12,000 to Nigeria's Ministry of Culture and Tourism. A formal request was said to have been presented for the rehabilitation of the National Theatre, Lagos, through the Nigerian Embassy in Beijing. They were very eager to co-operate with Nigeria in the area of culture and tourism. Minister of Culture and Tourism and his Chinese counterpart signed the protocol of programmes on the implementation of cultural and educational cooperation and exchanges between the governments of Nigeria and the People's Republic of China. The minister of Culture and Tourism there gave a donation of $12,000.00 worth of goods. Nigerian officials list goods that are needed to improve on Nigerian efficiency and the Chinese are going to send those goods free of charge to Nigeria.
