Description

On April 26, 2006, China and Nigeria signed an agreement for a CNY 5 million grant for anti-malaria drugs, training for Nigerians to control malaria and bird flu, and co-operation in technology. According to Nigeria's Minister of State for Petroleum Edmund Daukoru, this grant was decided upon to reciprocate Nigeria and China's formalization of four oil block contracts, which include the maintenance and management of the Kaduna refinery and setting up a power generation station. The status of this grant is uncertain.
