Description

On April 19, 2007, it was announced at the China-Africa Cooperation Forum that the Chinese Government planned to construct two schools in rural areas of Zimbabwe (See: 我援津巴布韦两所农村小学举行交接仪式). In 2011, China’s Ministry of Commerce provided a RMB 10 million grant to the Government of Zimbabwe for the Chiwaridzo Primary School and Warren Park D Primary School Construction Project (See: Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Mr. Xin Shunkang Launch the celebration of 30th Anniversary of establishment of China-Zimbabwe Diplomatic Relations). This project involved the construction of Chiwaridzo Primary School (also known as Bindura Primary School) in Mashonaland Central Province and Warren Park D Primary School in Warren Park, a suburb of Harare (See: Zimbabwe: China Builds U.S.$1 Million School and “非洲见闻”之四十九:中国-津巴布韦友谊小学见闻). This project was officially completed and handed over to the Zimbabwean authorities on 28 September, 2011 (See: 我援津巴布韦两所农村小学举行交接仪式 and Zimbabwe: Chinese Envoy Hands Over Two Schools). The Chinese project title is 援津小学校项目 or 的援津小学 (See: “非洲见闻”之四十九:中国-津巴布韦友谊小学见闻). This project is completed.
