Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

In 2010, the National Miners Association of Zimbabwe, representing small-scale miners, received a $10 million USD grant following an agreement between the Chinese and Zimbabwean governments. The association was ready to equitably disburse the grant to locals so that they could start their own mining ventures. The National Miners Association of Zimbabwe has over 5,000 members nationwide and began operating in 1982. It currently runs two training schools in Shamva and Filabusi. This project is completed.
