Project narrative

On March 7, 2001, the Chinese Government agreed to provide a RMB 5 million grant to the Government of Zambia for purchasing office equipment in preparation for hosting the Organization of African Unity (OAU) Summit. The equipment included computers, printers, copy machines, and fax machines. They were officially handed over to the Zambian side in June 2001. China also donated a USD $500,000 cash grant for the Summit (see Record ID#14529).
