Project narrative

On August 15, 2001, the Chinese Government and the Government of Sudan’s Ministry of International Cooperation signed a debt exemption protocol. This agreement reportedly cancelled the equivalent of $66.4 million of the Government of Sudan’s outstanding debt obligations to China.
