In 2006, the China's Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) and the Government of Sierra Leone signed an RMB 20 million loan agreement for unspecified purposes. The loan [Chinese Loan Account No. 2006/1] carried the following borrowing terms: a 0% interest rate, a 25 year maturity, and a 10 year grace period. The borrower was expected to repay the lender in ten, consecutive, annual payments (of RMB 2 million each) between 2021 and 2030. The first disbursement was made in 2007 and the first repayment was scheduled for 2021. The (principal) amount outstanding under the loan was RMB 18,100,000 as of December 31, 2015, RMB 18,100,000 as of December 31, 2016, RMB 18,100,000 as of December 31, 2017, RMB 18,100,000 as of December 31, 2018, RMB 18,100,000 as of December 31, 2019, RMB 18,100,000 as of December 31, 2020, RMB 18,100,000 as of December 31, 2021, and RMB 18,100,000 as of December 31, 2022.
