Project narrative

Between January 30-February 1, 2007, Chinese President Hu Jintao and Cameroonian President Paul Biya signed an agreement for the provision of expertise on studies for the construction of the Gynaeco-Obstetrics and Paediatric Hospital of Douala worth FCFA 44,800,000. While construction for the Gyneco-Obstetric and Pediatric Hospital was completed November 17, 2015, it is unclear as to whether this technical assistance progressed beyond a pledge. Two interest-free loans from MOFCOM were also provided for this specific project (one worth RMB 30 million, as captured in linked Record ID#58705, and one worth RMB 50 million, which is captured in linked Record ID#314. On August 3, 2009, the Chinese Government also provided a grant worth RMB 50 million (see linked Record ID#59618).
