1. The Yaounde Gynaecology, Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital (HGOPY) was created by Decree No. 2001/271 of 24 September 2001, and reorganized by Decree No. 2018/502 of 20 September 2018, as part of the cooperation between China and Cameroon. It was set up by the decision of both countries to significantly improve the health care system dedicated to women, mothers and children in Cameroon. Thus, on 26 October 1993, a credit agreement was signed in Beijing for the construction and equipment of a paediatric hospital in Yaounde. Built on a surface area of 9,448 m2, with an initial capacity of 240 beds, this project was later on transformed into a Gynaecology, Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital. HGOPY is a 1st category hospital, endowed with the following missions: providing quality gynaecological, obstetrical and paediatric care; contributing to the professional training and upgrading of the technical staff in the fields of gynaecology, obstetrics and paediatrics; providing new perspectives for medical research in gynaecology, obstetrics and paediatrics, and promoting cooperation and research in the field of health.
