Description

On June 18, 2009 at Friendship Hall in Khartoum, Sudan's Gezira State and Chinese CMCE Company signed a memo of understanding for CMCE to modernize irrigation and improve seeds. Per the agreement, Chinese will clean the water canals and introduce modern machines. Sudan's Minister of Agriculture, Abdul-Halim Ismail Al- Mutaafi, and Minister of Finance, Awad Al Jaz, attended the signing. The amount of financing, as well as the current status and start and end dates are unknown.
