Project narrative

During a visit to Uganda by Wen Jiabao on June 23, 2006, Uganda secured a grant of 24 billion UGX for the expansion of parliament chambers. As a condition for the grant, bidding for the project was completed in China by Chinese companies. The expansion will be built on top of the previous Hall of Parliament. Although the exact start and end dates are unknown, the project was mentioned as completed in 2008.
