In 2011, the Chinese Government provided an RMB 14 million grant to the Government of Niger for the Tillabéri and Dosso Borehole Drilling Project (See: 驻尼日尔大使夏煌与尼水利与环境部长签署我援尼打井项目施工合同). This project involved the drilling of 70 boreholes (water wells) in Tillabéri and Dosso provinces.On 2 December, 2011, China Geo-Engineering Corp. International Ltd. signed a contract with the Government of Niger’s Department of Water to implement this project (See: 驻尼日尔大使夏煌与尼水利与环境部长签署我援尼打井项目施工合同). The Chinese Ambassador to Niger, Xia Huang, a CGE representative, and Issoufou Issaka, the Nigerien Water Minister signed the contract. The project was completed and handed over to the local authorities on 30 June, 2012 (See: 我援尼七十口人工饮水井项目举行交接仪式).
