Project narrative

In 2008, China’s Ministry of Commerce provided an RMB 7 million grant to the Government of Comoros for the Water Supply Equipment Project. China’s Ministry of Commerce was the sources of funding. This project involved the provision of 33 km of water pipes. It also involved the provision of water pumps, water valves, instruments for detecting water leaks, uniforms for workers, and a photocopier. The equipment was supposed to be used to rehabilitate the water network in the capital city of Moroni. China National Machinery Import & Export Corporation (CMC) was the contractor responsible for implementation. This project was completed and handed over to the Government of Comoros on November 14, 2008. The handover ceremony at the headquarters of Ma-mwe, the national water and electricity company of Comoros.
