Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

In January 2012, China agreed to send a medical team to South Sudan to provide health services after the establishment of the country in 2011. China dispatched the first medical team in December 2012. The Department of Health of Anhui province is responsible for sending the 12-member team to Juba Hospital in South Sudan. On July 3, 2013, it was reported by the South Sudan’s Health Minister Dr. Micheal Milly Hussein that Chinese doctors working at Juba Teaching Hospital had their stay extended by one year. They delayed their return again due to turmoil in December 2013. On January 10, 2014, they received a certificate of honor from the South Sudanese Minister of Health, and on January 13, 2014, the team returned to China, marking the completion of their mission.
