In 2012, China donated 20 buses to the Ministry of Security to facilitate police and security deployment during the general election. The buses were manufactured by China Auto Caiec Ltd. The buses arrived in Kenya in March, 2012, but were still delayed at the Kenya Ports Authority when they were last reported on in May 2012.
