Project narrative

Between July 2011 and mid-2012, a severe drought affected the entire East African region causing severe food shortages in countries like Djibouti. On 4 January 2012, the Chinese government delivered a food aid package worth $10 million USD to Goubetto village in Djibouti. The donation included flour and oil.
