Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On 6 April, 2012, Zimbabwe's Health and Child Welfare Minister Dr. Henry Madzorera and China's Vice Minister of Commerce Chong Quan signed a grant agreement for the provision of 4.5 million RMB worth of neonatal equipment. It is unknown if the neonatal equipment was ever delivered to Zimbabwe. However, the Chinese Embassy in Zimbabwe did report in May 2012 that it had delivered a batch of neonatal resuscitation mannequins. Other agreements signed at this time included a 31.5 million RMB agreement for provision of an outside broadcasting van for the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (recorded in Record ID#30639), an ETCA worth RMB 80 million for unspecified purposes (recorded in Record ID#30260), and a loan agreement worth 1.025 billion RMB for upgrading the Victoria Falls Airport (recorded in Record ID#30137).
