Full Description

Project narrative

In July 2010, the Prime Minster of Senegal Souleymane Ndéné Ndiaye announced a program for building 100,000 units of social housing across Senegal. In April 2010, Senegalese Minister of International Cooperation Karim Wade had planned to visit China to sign an agreement for Chinese funding of the construction of 10,000 housing units. The project was expected to start in November or December 2010.

Staff comments

Because the visit of the Senegalese Minister of International Cooperation Karim Wade and the signing of the agreement had a degree of certainty, AidData has set to status to pipeline_pledge.
