Project narrative

On February 12, 2009, Chinese President Hu Jintao and Minister of Commerce Chen Deming signed an agreement to donate a batch of anti-malarial drugs to Mali on behalf of the Chinese government. The drugs were delivered at a handover ceremony on November 10, 2009. The Counsellor of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy of Mali, the Director of the General Office of the Ministry of Health of Mali, the Director of Medicine, and the head of the Mali medical team attended the ceremony. The donation included 230 million CFA francs of antimalarial drugs. The donation also included equipment and medicines worth 50 million CFA francs to be delivered to Kati Hospital (See Record ID#30664) and equipment and medicines worth 85 million CFA francs for the use of the Chinese medical mission hospitals in Kati, Sikasso and Markala (See Record ID#30665).
