Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On 4 March 2012, an arms depot in Mpila run by the Congolese armed forces exploded. It killed 280 people, injured 2,500 people, and wrecked neighborhoods in seven different localities. In response, the Chinese government donated $3 million USD to the Congo Reconstruction Support Fund to support recovery. China also donated mosquito nets, radios, and streetlights after the blast (#30524).
