Project narrative

On August 21, 2013, POWERCHINA's subsidiary -- Sinohydro Engineering Bureau 7 -- donated 50,000 Sudanese pounds ($11,355) to flood refugees in Sudan. The donation ceremony was organized by the Chinese Embassy and Economic Counselor's Office where they, too, made a donation to Sudanese flood victims (see linked Record ID#30789). Many Chinese enterprises in Sudan actively participated in the event. Some regions and states in Sudan suffered severe flooding during the rainy season in 2013, and the persistent heavy rains caused large scale damage on buildings and infrastructure, such as roads. Hundreds were injured or killed.
