Project narrative

On August 5, 2013, Chinese Ambassador to Kenya pledged a grant to protect elephants in Kenya. China signed agreements worth 5 billion USD for economic partnerships and wildlife protection on August 19, 2013. 4 billion USD was given to economic projects and wildlife protection, as well as construction of a railway at a cost of 3.8 billion USD (Record ID#31777). The remaining 1 billion USD of the money secured by Kenyatta is to go to energy-related projects (Record ID#33569).
