Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

Following an exchange of letters between China and Uganda on June 23rd, 2007, a handover signing ceremony took place on June 25th for two THSCAN mobile container and vehicle inspection systems for use in Kyambogo, Uganda. The donation was worth a total of $5,479,000 USD. The equipment was provided by Nuctech Company Limited. MOFCOM states that handover certificates were signed by both sides, but as of April 7, 2020, the Aid Management Platform (AMP) of the Government of Uganda's Ministry of Finance, Planning, and Economic Development recorded the full amount of the grant commitment as being undisbursed. Receipt of the equipment by Uganda therefore cannot be confirmed.
