Description

On July 25, 2012, the Chinese Government committed to provide a grant to drill 600 boreholes in regions across Malawi. Construction began November 1, 2012 and was completed on November 29, 2013. The official handover ceremony took place on March 6, 2014. The 600 boreholes were drilled in 6 regions across Malawi and will serve approximately 150,000 people. The boreholes were drilled by Gansu Geological Engineering Co., Ltd. The value of the grant that supported this project is unknown.
